The last two classes, we learned about 2 new ways of bowing, which is martele and legato. Legato is a bowing that you bow very strong and short. When it’s played in a song, I think it often gives the music a happy feeling. The other style, legato is the bowing that play 2 or more notes in 1 bowing. This made me feel that it gave the music a smooth, soft image. I wondered what is the difference between a staccato and martele, so I researched. From the link below, I found out that martele means “hammered” (it actually means hammered in French) and staccato means to be short and detached.
